Have you ever been wandering around somewhere and a bird takes a dump on your head? That’s what is happening to the New York Yankees right now. After getting dumped on in their first game back 16-7, the Toronto Blue Jays came back for a second bombing run yesterday and topped the Yankees 7-1 in game 2.
Somehow the Yankees just aren’t into playing baseball right now. Or the Blue Jays are a much better team than I thought, which is entirely possible since they’ve now won 5 straight. But either way, the New York Yankees appear listless and lost. struggling on the mound, at the plate, and even having problems with signs between the catcher and pitcher.
There are still two more game in Toronto, an opportunity for New York to even the series. The way things are going, it would surprise me to see anything but another loss. I haven’t given up on the Yankees but I do believe it may take a few more games for them to get back on track. But they better do it quick. The Tampa Bay Rays are coming up, a four game stand in Yankee Stadium. Now is the time to get back on track.
